During summertime in Madison, there's no better place to be than by the lake. Madison Boats is dedicated to fostering connections among people and the stunning Madison lakes. With four distinct locations, they cater to different areas: Wingra Boats for Lake Wingra, Brittingham Boats for Lake Monona, Marshall Boats for Lake Mendota, and their newest addition at The Edgewater, offering pontoon boat rentals to explore Lake Mendota. With an impressive fleet of over 400 boats and a team of nearly 80 staff members, Madison Boats provides endless water activities throughout the summer.

The story of Madison Boats began back in 1952 with the establishment of Wingra Boats. Now owner Tyler Leeper started working there at just 14 years old. His vision was to expand the Wingra Boats community and make the lakes more accessible to people across Madison. Their rental options (available to those aged 18+) include a diverse range of watercraft for all skill levels, such as canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), paddle boats, row boats, and pontoon boats.

Many of the locations offer additional activities beyond the water, such as fishing, outdoor games, picnics, and most are pet-friendly. Madison Boats also offer kids' day camps, memberships, marina services for non-motorized watercraft, and the ability to host private parties. This summer, they have a lineup of exciting events including Full Moon paddles, Jazz Fest, Ice Cream Boat Floats, and Burgers on the Bay.

Our team from Park Bank had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a morning paddle at the Wingra Boats location. Renting a kayak and a duck paddle boat, we enjoyed the tranquility of Lake Wingra, a motor-free oasis surrounded by the UW-Arboretum.

Remember, the summer season extends until October 1, 2023, so take advantage of the opportunity to experience the beauty of our city's lakes. Step outside and embrace all that these magnificent bodies of water have to offer!
