IRS Issues Warning to Taxpayers

Alteryx, a California-based data analytics firm, was recently a victim of a data breach, revealing sensitive personal information for 123 million American households. Although the data did not contain names, Social Security numbers, bank account information or passwords, extensive analytics on consumer behaviors, interests and financial/spending habits was revealed. Criminals can use some of this information for social engineering attacks, which are expected to increase in the coming years.
